Creative Ways to use Yummy Bakes on Mother's Day
Mother's day will be looking a little different this year in light of COVID-19, social distancing, and stay at home orders. Instead of the usual outings for lunch, we'll be celebrating our mothers in the comfort of our own homes. And can we just say, we're excited about that?!
While you may not be able to treat the momma in your life to a big lunch, we have some sweet treats we've come up with just for Mother's Day that you can surprise her with at home...and we'll introduce them to you along with some creative ways to present them to her as well!
Say hello to our Mother's Day Trio: The Berry Sweet Roll, our Filled Chocolate Flowers and our Multi-Berry Cake.
Let's start with the first treat of the morning, the Berry Sweet Roll.
Tip # 1: Breakfast in the best, least cluttered, and quietest part of the house.
Sounds like a tall order, right? We are all under a stay at home order. But could there be a nicer way to surprise mom in the morning than to treat her with a warm, delicious, sweet roll, a hot cup of tea (or coffee!), and a little time to gather her thoughts, work on a project that's been long forgotten, or read a good book? This time would be even sweeter for the momma's with young kids in the house if the kids are the ones who set up breakfast and treat mom with this special time. Don't forget to have an activity ready (or a movie!) for those youngsters so that mom really can sit back and enjoy some quiet time.
Now for the snacks of the day: Filled Chocolate Flowers
Tip # 2: We just adore these delightful treats. Order at least 3 and hide them in places that mom frequently goes throughout the day (the laundry room, the refrigerator, a favorite chair or reading nook, etc) with sweet little notes, hand drawn cards from the kids, or a small gift and watch her face light up. She'll cherish the notes and enjoy the sweets (maybe she'll even share with you ;) )
And to sum the day up, a beautiful centerpiece for your dinner table, the Multi-Berry Cake!
Tip #3: Order-in! Give mom the gift of time and an evening off. Plan dinner! If you can, order in from your favorite local restaurant (celebrating mom and helping a local business, win win!), set the table for a lovely dinner, and serve up this beautiful cake for dessert! No mess, very little clean up, and more time to spend with the family.
